Mike Velletta (Retford & Australia)
Dave Callaghan (Blyth & South Africa) Class Act!!
Chris Cairns (Blid & NZ)
Any Bichell (Milton & Aus)
Saeed Azid (James Maude)
Nadeem Iqbal ( Blyth) This guy was quick when he could keep his front foot behind the no ball line

Never played in the Bassetlaw apart from a guest app for AGD years ago at Everton but played against O'Brien when he turned out for Glapwell in the midweek league last year. Only came in off a few paces but was still sharp and removed an off stump a fair way with one ball!!

Asad Butt hasn't played International cricket, but at least 500 runs and 50 wickets for 6 seasons running shows he's probably been one of the most productive.

Butts good but these plyers played when the Bassetlaw 1 was a top league. Nadeem from Blyth was lightning quick. Once umpired him at Welbeck on a flat track he had everybody jumping about. He was the type of bowler you needed body armour to.

Dave Callaghan - Blyth
Sean Lambley - Milton and Steetley
Saeed Bin Nasir - although not played at the Highest level (no offence to Pilsley)
Tariq Raschid - Bolsover, regular scorer of 1K runs

A batch of bowlers there Rog you would not want to face after a night on the town.
Nadeem and Bichell then followed up with Butt and Cairns and Dave Callaghan for good measure. Might be a long day in the field with the over rate though,if it got that far.

No arguement that Nadeem's a fine bowler, but do you really think that pace is everything? (Although I know he was a hell of a lot more than just that)

Asad is class.  Yes he hasn't played International cricket.  Yes he didn't play in the top divisioon before they were reformed.  However, at the end of the day he would have performed and been one of the top players in there anyway.

Best spinner I faced in the Bassetlaw was an oevrseas.  MHM's Luke Muller.

Luke Muller was a good spinner and pretty good opening bat as well. Plays in the Melbourne grade cricket top section (good standard)

Thats a joke saying SBN hasn't played at the highest level just because he plays for Pilsley.
This guy plays 1st class cricket in Pakistan and has been called up for the Pakistani test squad. Is that a high enough level for you or does he have to play against the mighty Worksops and Kiveton Parks of this world to prove himself truely "at the highest level?".

Er Wiz totally taken out of context by your good self, Highest Level was talking about in Bassetlaw terms which is what we were talking about not his Pakistan expertise, as I haven't even see him play I am only going on other peoples views of him

Bridon's success of the eighties was mainly due to significant contributions from Kiwis.

Bruce Blair
Stuart McCullum
Derek Walker
Russ Mawhinney
Rob McLeod

There have been quite a few other Bridon cricketers from overseas (such as Grant Payne, Tim McKeown, Brendan Oxenham, and more recently Aussie Justin Miller, to name but a few), who were all decent players, but the aforementioned were the class acts, capable of winning games by themselves.

Ok sorry RB, understand now.
SBN would still get 1000+ runs in 1st division. The only reason he doesn't is because his team doesn't play in that division.
And I dont play for Pilsley either.
