Graeme Archer and Richard Bates head for Clifton As previously suggested on this site, Sting In The Tail can confirm that former Heanor Town players Richard Bates and Graeme Archer are heading back to Nottinghamshire to play their cricket in 2002. The two former Nottinghamshire stars replace New Zealander Kyle Mills , who will not be returning next season, and Chris Hewison , who has been released by Nottinghamshire. Speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post, Clifton spokesman Andy Walters said: "They are both excellent players. Archer scored over 1,000 runs while Bates is outstanding with both bat and ball. They have come to us because of their links with Bobby Chapman when he was at Notts." The loss of players of their standard was the cause of Heanor Town's resignation from the Premier League as reported on this site earlier.
