Michael Dickinson tenders his resignation
by Alan Rowley, 3rd October 2001

In a brief statement issued by Derbyshire County Cricket Club today, Wednesday 3rd October, it was disclosed that General Committee member Michael Dickinson has stated that he could not accept the reappointment of the current cricket management of the Club for 2002. Dickinson said his reason for reaching his decision is the last two unsuccessful seasons.

Speaking on behalf of the Club, Chief Executive John Smedley thanked Mr Dickinson for his contribution since he was appointed following the vote of no confidence in the General Committee of 1999. Smedley went on to especially thank Dickinson for his planning for future ground development.

It is not known whether any more changes are imminent from the County Ground following two seasons that can only be described as disasterous, but you can rely on Sting In The tail to be first with the news as soon as it breaks.
