Adrian Marsh will return to Langley Mill in 2002 Stainsby face a difficult time as Adrian Marsh and Peter Davies return to former clubs. Speculation still surrounds former Derbyshire star Simon Lacey's future at the club. Sting In The Tail can exclusively confirm that Adrian Marsh will return to Langley Mill for the 2002 Premier League season. Marsh was released by the county at the end of the 2001 season after spending most of the early part of the season sidelined through injury. Despite his injury problems, Marsh, playing for Stainsby Hall, still managed to finish in the top fifteen of the Premier League batting averages scoring 660 runs at an average of 38.82. Speaking exclusively to Sting In The Tail, Marsh told us to expect big things from the Millers in the 2002 season as more signings are being planned. He said "Many people have written the Millers off, but we are going to prove them wrong."
On the subject of Stainsby, we can confirm that skipper Peter Davies is leaving the club to re-join Spondon in the Abbey Glass Division One of the County League. Davies, who incensed his former colleagues at Ockbrook and Borrowash with the manner of his departure, had a largely disappointing season with the bat accumulating 464 runs. He will not be happy with his performances for Stainsby. Speculation still surrounds former Derbyshire star Simon Lacey (pictured). Reported to be in discussions with Clifton, Lacey is also considered by many to be about to return to Langley Mill. Stay logged on to Sting In The Tail for more news as we get it.
