Poor Derbyshire total ensures a Sussex stroll A disappointing Derbyshire total, despite a fine knock of 96 not out from Steve Stubbings and a spirited 40 from Chris Bassano, was nowhere near enough to ensure a Derbyshire victory at the County Ground on Bank Holiday Monday. The two batsmen put together a partnership of 106 for the third wicket, but a poor last ten overs saw the home side well short of a decent score. Stubbings's innings was a career best one-day innings. Sussex comfortably knocked of the 207 runs required with four overs to spare thanks to an impressive knock of 94 from 116 balls by opener Richard Montgomerie. He was assisted by a fine fifty from Murray Goodwin who ended on an unbeaten 53 from 45 balls. Tom Lungley was pick of the Derbyshire bowlers with 2 for 35 from his seven overs.
