Premier Cup semi-finals match reports The West Indies Cavaliers 112 lost to Langley Mill 182 by 70 runs This was a strong Cavaliers side which included former Test player Chris Lewis. Langley Mill batted first and made steady but not spectacular progress. Richard Marsh made 30 and Sam Patel 25 and they were all out in the last of their fifty overs. For the Cavaliers Mike Moseley took 3-15 and Chris Lewis 2-23. The Cavaliers made a steady start and looked set at 70-2, but then there was a collapse and they were all out in 37.5 overs for a disappointing total. Chris Lewis was caught and bowled by Ken Smith for 1 and his brother was top scorer with 30.. For the Millers Ken Smith took 3-27, Sam Patel 2-20 and Ron Patel 2-21 Alvaston & Boulton 188-9 lost to Dunstall 189-2 by 8 wickets A&B battled their way to a decent score, but failed to produce the big innings needed to beat a side with Dunstall's strong batting potential. The top score was by Nathan Richards (32) and the others contributed bits and pieces. Credit must go to the Dunstall bowlers, with Danny Spasic taking 4-43 and Martin Clewley 4-31. When Dunstall batted they lost only two wickets in passing A&B's total, with assured knocks from Jamie Benstead (61) and Carl Eyden (70 not out). Phil Simmons didn't stay long but scored a rapid 30 So the first final of this domestic cup in its new format will be between Langley Mill and Dunstall, and is due to be played at Queen's Park Chesterfield on Sunday 16th September.
