Cavalier Sparham grabs important Papplewick win Cutthorpe put to the sword. Cavalier Sparham grabs important Papplewick win. Farnsfield rout early pacemakers. Worksop crash to ten wicket defeat. Lindsay leads the way as Thoresby continue run. Arnold who were extremely unlucky not to regain their position in the Nottinghamshire Premier League last season are in danger of doing a reenactment of 'After the Lord Mayor's Show' this season as they were put to the sword by leaders Cutthorpe and succumbed to a six wicket defeat on Saturday. Only player coach Nolan McKenzie made any impression scoring 30 out of an all out total of 167. Asadullah Butt claimed 4 for 58 and Nigel Kingham bagged 3 for 17 in the carnage and the target never looked good enough to trouble the powerful Cutthorpe side. So it proved as the same two players Asadullah Butt (54 n.o.) and Nigel Kingham (41) took them to an easy victory with only Nolan McKenzie (3 for 46) causing any problems whatsoever. Arnold certainly need to put some form together because their current standing might well drag them into a relegation dog fight which is a far cry from the superb performances they produced last season. Papplewick & Linby grabbed a very important win against a Cuckney side who have been in impressive form all season. Cuckney batted first and reached a respectable 183 for 9 with Matthew Sangar top scoring with 40 whilst Jim Rhodes bowled quite brilliantly to take 8 for 58 for Papplewick. The Papplewick reply came in cavalier style as Neil Sparham battered his way to a magnificent 103 and with Jim Rhodes completing a fine all round showing with 28 the target was reached with four wickets to spare despite a good effort from Cuckney's Gavin Johnson who took 4 for 83. Dark horses Farnsfield continued their unbeaten run with a complete rout of early pacemakers Kiveton Park. Kiveton were blasted out for just 72 with Tim Haines claiming 4 for 25 and Mark Hallam and Steve Randall bagging a brace of wickets each. This total proved no obstacle for Farnsfield who only lost a single wicket in acquiring the required runs. James Bennett who is in prime form at the moment made an unbeaten 29 and good support came from Andy Edwards with 27 n.o. Worksop were another side who crashed badly and suffered a ten wicket defeat against a resurgent Mansfield Hosiery Mills side. Worksop were bowled out for just 73 with seven players only registering three runs between them. Had it not been for Anthony Edwardson who made an impressive 45 one wonders what the score might have been as the next highest knock was a paltry eight runs. New Zealander Bradley Scott proved almost unplayable taking 5 for 28 and Jonathan Best took 3 for 23 in a good spell. Hosiery Mills claimed victory in just 14.4 overs with Clive Graham (35 n.o.) and Jonathan Appleton (34 n.o.) taking them to a very easy win. Thoresby Colliery continued their good form of late with a winning draw over Glapwell. Thoresby totaled 186 for 6 with Australian Scott Lindsay leading the way with an excellent 69. Steve Willis (36) and Bryan Woods (58 n.o.) added magnificent support in a very good batting effort. Glapwell never looked capable of reaching this demanding target and settled for the draw at 154 for 7. Nick Truswell (30) and Andy Pick (37 n.o.) batted sensibly as Glapwell achieved their ambition.
