Home Brewery / Raleigh Cup updates Despite the wet start to the afternoon, most of the games in the Home Brewery and Raleigh Cups were able to be resolved without having to resort to the dreaded bowl-out. In the Home Brewery Cup, the highest score of the day award went to Sawley and Long Eaton Park who thumped Eastwood Town by 68 runs thanks to a fine 96 from John Polley. Akhil Avasthy took over the lead role after Michael Naylor had taken a magnificent catch to dismiss Polley. Avasthy went on to score an unbeaten 57. The young Eastwood side were no match for a strong Sawley side and were easily beaten. The other two games that were "played" were at Gedling where the Colliery beat Southwell by 29 runs and at Unity where Attenborough won by 13 runs. In the bowl-outs, Hucknall beat Long Whatton (2-1) and Ellerslie beat Rolls Royce Leisure 3-2. Kimberley Institute had a walk-over against Old Paviors, Clifton Village had a walk-over against Awsworth and the Notts Amateurs and Gedling & Sherwood game is not yet resolved. Quarter Final draw Ellerslie v Clifton Village In the Raleigh Cup, there was a thriller at Chilwell where the home team beat Breaston. Breaston scored 82 for 8 only to see Chilwell knock off the winning runs with just one wicket left. West Indian Caribs beat Awsworth convincingly, knocking off the required 104 runs for the loss of just the one wicket. Cotgrave Welfare easily beat West Bridgford by 36 runs and Long Whatton came away from Epperstone winners by 24 runs. Other winners were Carrington Cavaliers (walk-over), East Leake (bowl-out), Rainworth Welfare (walk-over) and Woodborough. Quarter Final draw Chilwell v Cotgrave Welfare
