Gary Myers early leader in 'Player of Year' race
Myers, who scored 1180 runs for Quarndon at an average of 51.30, takes over the early leadership from Ockbrook's Trevor Smith. Myers' lead would come as a surprise to many of the site regulars, but his all-round ability sees him picking up votes on a regular basis. His bowling, for example, has netted him 27 wickets at an average of 26.26.
Best of the Derbyshire county players is Kevin Dean (pictured top) who lies in fourth place with 44 points, 13 points behind the leader. This is a fine achievement from the pace-man as he is only eligible for votes in one category. There is still plenty of time to vote as the first stage of the competition runs until the end of October. At this time, the top 6 will go forward to an opinion poll which will decide the overall winner. If you haven't sent your vote in yet, please read the rules carefully before voting. A lot of people have voted for players in categories that they aren't eligible for, so please check before posting. Also, one e-mail per e-mail address only.
