by Alan Rowley, 3rd June 2002

Kimberley left-arm spinner Michael Innes has landed May's Mapperley Sports sponsored "Player of the Month" award. The £50 prize is awarded for outstanding and consistent club cricket.

Innes has played a major part in Kimberley's attack this season and has taken a total of 14 wickets, helping his club to third place in the Nottinghamshire Premier League.

Other candidates included Innes' club colleague Jon Shaw who has also made a fine start to the season taking regular runs and wickets, including a fine 71 and 4 for 25 in the first game of the season against Wollaton.
