Wirksworth youngsters shine Sting In The Tail is pleased to report a couple of notable performances from Wirksworth's Under 15s over the last couple of weeks. Andrew Mottershead, playing in the cup match against Swanwick, scored a maiden fifty. Swanwick scored a creditable 107 for 6 in poor conditions, but Mottershead's fifty enabled the Wirksworth lads to knock off the required runs for the loss of only three wickets. In the following week's match against Tideswell, skipper Liam Martin also scored a maiden fifty but followed this up with a hat trick, to finish with figures of 4 for 7 off his four overs. An excellent performance lads.
