Adrian Pierson announced as Derbyshire coach An off-spinner and batsman, 39 year old Pierson is a real team man whose chief role over the last two seasons has been to liaise with county development manager Colin Davis in setting up scouting and coaching networks. A regular visitor to Premier and County League matches, Pierson has built up a strong relationship with club and county cricketers alike.
Karl Krikken, pictured right, takes over the role of second team coach, but will continue to be available as first team wicketkeeper. Krikken, who celebrated his benefit year in 2002, is well-respected on the club circuit and his wealth of experience will be an invaluable asset to the young, up and coming second teamers. Pierson's predecessor, Andy Brown, meanwhile, starts the 2003 season as Chesterfield 's first Director of Youth and Cricket Development. Brown's role is to develop cricket from grass roots to Premier League level.
