Notts Premier 2004 fixture list released
by Alan Rowley, 7th December 2003

The fixture list for the 2004 Premier League has been released with the season starting on Saturday 24th April and finishing on Saturday 11th September. As usual, there is a double header weekender over the Spring Bank Holiday with games taking place on the Saturday and the Monday.

South Notts champions Calverton have a cracking start to their Premier campaign with a home tie against runners-up Kimberley. Bassetlaw champions Retford make the trek to Southwell in their first game back in the Premier. Champions West Indies Cavaliers have an away fixture at Clifton who will be looking to put last season disappointing season to the back of their minds.

2003 third placed Welbeck travel to Collingham and in the other fixtures, Caythorpe entertain Papplewick and Wollaton travel to Unity.

An early season crunch day looks to be May 15th when the 2003 top four play each other. Kimberley take on Welbeck while Cavs travel to Caythorpe. Kimberley will need to make sure the team bus has over-wintered well as they start with three successive away fixtures at Calverton, Papplewick and Collingham.

Newcomers Calverton, however, will be hoping for a dry May as they face four home games in their first five, against Kimberley, Caythorpe, Collingham and a chance to avenge the Champion of Champions defeat by Retford. They seem to have been given every chance of making a good start to their first Premier season. Clifton have been given a great chance of making a good start to their 2004 season with three home games against Cavs, Wollaton and Caythorpe.

All eyes will be at Kimberley on June 12th for the clash of the 2003 big two. The return clash will take place on August 14th when Cavs host the 2003 runners-up.

The full fixture list can be found here.
