Try on a white coat for size - give umpiring a go
by Alan Rowley, 18th September 2003

With the dust still settling on the 2003 season, the Derbyshire branch of the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers are already looking forward to next April.

The Association is holding an 'Umpires Course' every Monday evening at the County Ground in Derby. The course is designed to attract future umpires and players who want to improve their knowledge of the laws. The Course will run every week up to November 10th.

With several players already having announced their retirement at the end of the 2003 season, what better way for you guys to put a little back into the game than take up umpiring. How about it boys? Instead of moaning about the standard of umpiring and the lack of official umpires, why not get off your backsides and help out?

We will all love you for it!
