Adams back for Black Caps in fourth one-dayer Former Kimberley Institute all-rounder Andre Adams has been recalled to the New Zealand squad for the fourth one-dayer against Pakistan at Napier on Wednesday. Adams was dropped following his first match performance of 0 for 63 from 9 overs.
Adams is arguably the best player to have graced the Nottinghamshire Premier League in its short history. A fierce striker of the ball, Adams was at his best in the 2001 Champion of Champions game when he demolished Derbyshire champions Alvaston and Boulton with a blistering batting performance. Adams, pictured at Kimberley, tore the Alvaston attack apart and peppered the houses surrounding the ground. The Kiwi reached a century in only 38 balls and went on to remain unbeaten on 106. His innings included 6 fours and an amazing 11 sixes. Adams joins Nottinghamshire stars Chris Cairns and Daniel Vettori and ex-Clifton overseas Kyle Mills in the 12-man sqaud. The full squad is: Stephen Fleming (capt), Andre Adams, Craig Cumming, Chris Cairns, Brendon McCullum (wkt), Craig McMillan, Hamish Marshall, Kyle Mills, Jacob Oram, Scott Styris, Daryl Tuffey, Daniel Vettori.
