Watch the Dickie Bird! After the great success of last year, Rolls Royce Leisure Cricket Club are holding another sportsman's evening at the Rolls Royce Welfare on Watnall Road at Hucknall on Thursday July 14th 2005. The guest speaker will be none other than the former umpire, player and cricketing legend Dickie Bird.
Bird's talk is likely to feature stories and anecdotes from his long and illustrious career and it is bound to be an amusing and entertaining speech. Also on the bill is the brilliant Northern comedian Mike Kelly and the compere is double European Cup winner John McGovern. The meal will consist of home made steak pie, chips and gravy, and a waitress service will ensure that you don't have to queue for your beer! It will be a great night and is fantastic value for money - tickets cost just £20 per person. Doors will be open at 7:00pm with last orders coming at 11:30pm. There will be a raffle during the evening with some quality prizes on offer. Tickets are selling fast, so if you want to make sure you don't miss out, contact Andy Wheat on 07967 387605 or Brian Pickering on 07970 255729 to reserve your tickets.
