Who is the quickest? Find out at Rainworth fun day.
by Alan Rowley, 6th August 2005

Rainworth Welfare Cricket Club are holding a fun day on their ground at Kirklington Road, Rainworth on Sunday 14th August 2005. Highlight of the day will be a competition to find out who is the quickest bowler in the under 40s and over 40s categories. The event is being held with the help of Newark and Sherwood District Council.

The day starts at 10:00am with coaching for the youngsters. In the afternoon, the club are holding a Kwik Cricket competition, and any teams are welcome to come along and join in the fun. The speed gun will be in action from around 10:30am, so why not drop in and see how fast you really are?

There will be a raffle on the day, with prizes donated by owzat-cricket, Councillor Paddy Tipping, Mansfield Town Football Club, who have donated an autographed football, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, who have donated match tickets, and many more. There will be a bar and food will be available all day.

Rainworth Welfare are hoping that star overseas players Shiraz Khalid will be able to attend, so it promises to be a great day. For more information, contact the club direct.
