New opening partnership for youth cricket league The 2006 season of the Notts & Derbys Border Youth League is about to commence and they are pleased to have obtained two new major sponsorship deals with Brandon Tool Hire and HSBC. Brandon Tool Hire will be sponsoring the Under 15 section and HSBC the Under 13 section and knockout cup. Both sponsorships are for a two year period. Our existing sponsors Alfreton Town Council, Hi-Fields Leisure and McDonalds of Somercotes remain with the League for 2006. The photograph shows the handover of the Brandon Tool Hire sponsorship cheque by Chris Slater (Area Manager) to Youth League officials.
The League welcomes two new clubs, Duffield (at under 12) and Pilsley (at under 11 and under 12) who, together with additional teams from existing clubs, brings the total for 2006 to 78 teams at four age levels, a record number for any season. The major increase is again in Kwik Cricket with an additional eight teams, giving four divisions. The benefit of the Kwik boom is shown at Under 12 level this season with an increase of four teams. The League has also launched it’s own web site, where fixtures, results, league tables and news will be updated on a weekly basis throughout the season. You can access the web site here.
