Deany benefits from 6 a side floodlit tournament
by Alan Rowley, 26th September 2006

This Friday could be your final opportunity to see some outdoor cricket action in this 2006 season when the Kevin Dean benefit 6 a side floodlit tournament takes place at the County Ground in Derby. Six sides from local businesses with cricket connections will contest the tournament over the evening.

Kevin DeanMaster of ceremonies for the evening is owzat cricket's Andy Mitchell who will ensure there will be a few laughs along the way. Also, Dean is hoping to attract several present and former Derbyshire players to the tournament - some may even play.

Admission to the event is a nominal £2 for adults and £1 for the under 16s. The event gets under way at 5:15 p.m. with the final starting at about 9:15 p.m.

There are two more planned events to complete Kevin's benefit year. On October 4th, the High Peak Cricket Society dinner takes place at Marple Golf Club, and on November 11th the closing dinner takes place at Pride Park, featuring Booby Davro and the Four Tunes.

For more information on the benefit year, visit Kevin's website - click here.
