We need independent umpires - why not give it a try? The Mansfield and District Cricket Umpires Assosciation is looking to recruit for the 2007 season. They cover all matches in the Mansfield and District Cricket League as well as the Youth League. Areas covered include Sheffield, Chesterfield, Alfreton and Mansfield. If you're coming to the end of your playing career and would still like to be involved, umpiring should be a consideration. After all, it's the best place to watch the game from! If you haven't the experience, winter training courses are available. Travel is kept to a minimum, and games are 40 overs a side matches played on a Sunday afternoon. Matches are available weekly, or fortnightly, and even on an occasional basis to suit your circumstances. If you would like to give it a try, you can contact Godfrey Kerry for more information. You can find him on 01246 865390 or by email at godfrey.kerry@virgin.net.
