YDCL announce 2008 sponsorship deal

The Yorkshire & Derbyshire Cricket League is pleased to announce a new sponsorship deal for the 2008 season. The league will be now be known as The Sheaf Sports Yorkshire & Derbyshire League after joining forces with the Staniforth Road, Darnall, based sports equipment supplier.

The league looks set to have an eventful season ahead with new clubs entering, the launch of an innovative 20-20 competition (Winston Cup), the U-21 squad making their debut in the White Rose Trophy and the annual Percy Crookes 6-a-side competition.

John Bland, partner at Sheaf Sports, is also excited about the new partnership. “After a long association with the Yorkshire & Derbyshire Cricket League it's good to be the official sponsor for 2008. More new clubs, great competitions and plenty of old friends to catch up with during the season. Let's just hope the sun shines and plenty of good cricket can be played, on some of the most pleasant grounds in the area”.
