Derbyshire County Cricket League report - 02/09/01 THE RIPLEY & HEANOR NEWS WRIGHT CUP FINAL Selston Town 2nds 217 beat Breadsall 215 by two runs Selston batted first and posted a challenging score, with good contributions from Mark Thompson (64) and James Booth (32). For Breadsall Michael Black took 4-51. Breadsall responded well and got to within three runs of victory. Dave Gilbert made 33, Adrian Kirkham 44 and David Kirkham 59. Bowling for Selston Duncan Green took 3-44 and Steve Haslam 3-40. Sunday's rearranged fixtures cleared the way for Elvaston CC to go to Lords next week-end. Abbey Glass Division 1 Elvaston 140-0 beat Mickleover 139 by 10 wickets After Saturday's heavy loss Elvaston returned to form with this big win. In the Mickleover innings Ian Anderson made 33 and Chris Bolton 32, with Ian Hall taking 3-14 and James Bodill 4-49.. This win should set Elvaston up for another vintage performance at Lords Lee Archer made 48 not out and Danny Randle 69 not out Clifton 222-6 drew with West Hallam 81-8 Con de Lange made 51 and Lee Ali smashed 57 not out off 22 balls for Clifton. Stuart Rainer took 3-47. West Hallam concentrated on defence and held out for maiden after maiden. Lee Ali featured also as a bowler, taking 6-17. Derbyshire Building Society Division 3A Riddings 159 lost to Elvaston 2nds 162-4 by 6 wickets Another win for Elvaston! Shane Sweeting was Riddings' top scorer with 44, and Richard Fox took 4-33 for Elvaston. In Elvaston's reply Trevor Hessey scored 59 and Eddy Hodgson 47.
