Bolsover take Mallen Trophy In a rather one sided final at Kiveton Park, Bolsover easily beat North Wheatley by 9 wickets with plenty of time to spare. The match was expected to be a tight one with both sides from Division 1 but with North Wheatley suffering relegation the previous day their disappointment was still showing. This should detract nothing away from Bolsover who put together an excellent team performance right from the word go. Only Dave Waller with 24 made anything like a score for Wheatley and none of the others could make any headway against Tariq Rashid who had the incredible figures of 4 for 7. Skipper Charlie Walker (2 for 11) and Steve Wooley (2 for 33) also bowled magnificently as North Wheatley were all back inside for a very disappointing 110. This derisory total was soon accomplished by Bolsover with only the brilliant Tariq Rashid being dismissed for a quick-fire 37. Steve Wooley (53 n.o.) and Chris Cowley (15 n.o.) completed the demolition job as Bolsover took the trophy for the first time. Man of the Match was Tariq Rashid in a close run thing with Steve Wooley, but all the Bolsover players played their part in a wonderful triumph for the club.
