Yorkshire and Derbyshire title race wide open The Division One title race is still wide open following an interesting series of results over the weekend. De La Salle still head the field despite suffering a losing draw against Centralians. Old Edwardians / Collegiate fall one place into third after a losing draw at Parkhead. Crucially, Old Eds maintain a game in hand on the rest of the contenders. Back into the equation after a slow start to the season come defending champions Hundall. They managed to bowl Hathersage out for 137 (Campbell 41, Rhodes 40, Badcock 4-42) and register a three wicket win (Pursehouse 54 no). Stocksbridge I are in second place by virtue of their win in the Stocksbridge 'derby.' They bowled their second string out for 67 (Chris Kelly 6-10) and recorded a six wicket win. Chesterfield Barbarians hold third place due to a forfeited match by Hathersage II. Hathersage are now relegated. Bakewell compiled 180-9 (Luckraft 109, Buchan 5-32) at fourth placed Grindleford, who settled for the draw at 150-8 (Crawford 41 no, Peach 4-56). Millhouses' 179-9 (Ian Knowles 50, Peter Holmes 6-53) was passed in style by SWD II for the loss of just one wicket (Dan Franklin 83, Marcus Burley 85 no). It remains tight at the top of Division Three. Leaders Dronfield Woodhouse managed to restrict Old Edwardians / Collegiate II to 122-6 (J.Lings 40) and gain a comfortable eight wicket win (James Staniforth 50). In pursuit are Laycocks. They posted a competitive 187-7 (Roger Wainwright 95, Joe Mohaman 57 no, Steve Brocklehurst 4-40) at Richland Wanderers. Wainwright kept his nerve in a tight finish to claim 5-32 as the Wanderers were bowled out for 181 (Andy Tann 109). Also in the equation are Centralians II. They registered 211-6 (Rhodes 55, Behan 78) at Hundall II, who were bowled out for 163 (Hibbert 50, Wood 6-48). De La Salle II managed 149-7 against former long-time leaders BT Pensions / AGD, who were dismissed for 98. University Staff II must face up to life in Division Four next season.
