Clowne lower Kiveton Park's colours Clowne became the first team to lower Kiveton Park's colours in the Sunday League, beating them by three wickets. Bawtry's young side continue to improve, bowling well to restrict Thoresby Park to 96 for 6 in reply to their 118 for 3 total. MGT won the battle of the bottom two with a four wicket win over Killamarsh, and Blidworth kept up their impressive start to the season defeating Woodsetts by three wickets. Monday was a great nights cricket as two games were decided by only three runs, the first being Barmy Army 115 for 6 (Daz Walker 58 not out) just holding off Thoresby Park who finished on 112 for 6. In the second match The Mafia looked to be heading for another low score as they lost quick wickets, with only Richard Bentley showing any resistance with 24, before the number seven batsman and captain Dave Hunt came to the crease. He scored a superb 74 to take their final total to a very useful 124 all out, a total which Edwinstowe looked to have well in their sights, before a late collapse saw them just fall short on 121 for 6. A good effort by Langold, who restricted high scoring Tea Bags to a very modest 108 total, and for a time it looked like an upset was on the cards, but tight disciplined bowling meant Langold were still nine runs short when the overs ran out. Previously unbeaten Glapwell had a nightmare against Clumber Park losing by the maximum margin of seven wickets. On Wednesday, Bilsthorpe's Mark Bell took a hat trick against Shirebrook, but it was his sides only high spot as Gary Hall was again in fine form with 54 not out, the top scorer in his side's massive 155 for 6 total, giving Shirebrook a winning margin of 125 runs.Cuckney Terriers keep top spot with a comfortable win over Done & Dusted, and Walesby won for the first time beating Shireoaks by four wickets. On week four of the Sunday League, Blidworth maintained their 100% record with a narrow 11 run win over Bawtry, and Woodsetts got off the mark beating Killamarsh by five wickets. The rest of the results went with the form book as we approach the halfway stage of the season. Cheers. Steve.
