Shireoaks demolish Shirebrook to cruise into semis Shireoaks cruised into the semi final with a ruthless demolition of fellow Wednesday League rivals Shirebrook, who had no answer to the stroke play that took Oaks to the second highest score of the season, 176 for 3. Captain Richard Watts top scored with 43 not out. Gas Hall led the reply with 40 but when he was last man out his side was still 87 runs short on 89 all out. Killamarsh made light work of Clumber Park's 91 all out, responding with 92 for 2 in only 11 overs Kiveton Park go through although, after making a useful 122 for 4, Clowne's reply started well with Josh Womble (26) and Dale Steers (22) getting them off to a flyer, before a collapse ended with Eddie Kinsey last man out for 22 and Park going forward to play Springboks in the semis. The game of the round saw Tea Bags lose their proud unbeaten record and despite a fighting 41 by Tommy Tea Bag Ullyott and 27 by Dave Fagin, the final total of 86 all out never looked like a winning one. So it proved, as Richard Stroh with 24 and Steve Bentley with 20 set up a possible third play-off triumph for the Springboks.
