Burdett shines as Kiveton are edged out Killamarsh just edged out Kiveton Park in the battle for the top of the Sunday league. Paul Burdett survived a close no ball call from the square leg umpire on the grounds of height that would have seen him caught behind. He went on to help win the ill tempered game with 49 not out, knocking off Kiveton's 105 all out total off the penultimate ball of the game. Thoresby Park slipped to bottom spot after a 28 run defeat by Cuckney Cowboys, and Woodsetts won for the first time in a tight one wicket defeat of Bawtry. Andy Hall (20 not out) and son Phil (25) did most of the damage. It’s hard to see past Tea Bags and Springboks for the Monday championshi. This week it was Clumber Park and Langold who suffered, beaten by 40 runs and four wickets respectively. The Mafia are on good form this season easily beating disappointing Barmy Army by 31 Runs. A fine 51 not out by Glapwell captain Nick Trustwell was not enough to save his side slipping to defeat against Edwinstowe, who had youngster Tom Ward to thank top scoring with 31 not out in an 8 run win. The Wednesday league is a three horse race as unbeaten Cuckney Terriers and Shirebrook both gained six wicket wins at the expense of Teversal and Done & Dusted, and Shireoaks, who are the top scorers of all the leagues and well capable of upsetting the top two. This week saw the battle of the winless teams, and it was Walesby who came out on top after bowling out Blyth for a paltry 48, but still managing to lose four wickets in reaching the target. Cheers Steve.
