Thoresby end Killamarsh 100% record Sunday proved to be a day of upsets as first match on, in form Thoresby Park ended the 100% record of Killamarsh in a thrilling affair. Batting first, Killamarsh had KC to thank with 38 not out to give them a reasonable total of 108 for 6. In reply, steady batting down the order saw four batsmen reach the 20 needed to retire. Tight bowling left Thoresby still needing 16 to win off the final over, and when captain Mick Day struck the final delivery of the game for the four runs required for victory, it was just reward for a fine all-round team performance. Kiveton Park faced Clowne knowing a win would see them replace Killamarsh in top spot, and with Tom Ullyott top scoring with 33 out of 113 for 6, the game was evenly matched. Led by captain Matt Lineker with 30 not out, Clowne made light work of the target reaching 114 for 3 with seven balls to spare. Cuckney Cowboys decline continues, beaten this week by Woodsetts, and Bawtry beat Pilsley in another nail biter as Bawtry just managed to hang on to their 93 all out total. Unlucky Pilsley finished on 90 all out in reply. The top teams on Monday did not have the same problems with Springboks beating Glapwell by 106 runs, and Tea Bags 154 for 4 twice as many as Whitwells 77 all out. The question in the Clumber Park v Langold game could have been how many Beards does it take to win a game of Indoor Cricket, the answer three, father Mike (19) son Gaz (25) and other son Dave (53 not out). Clumber won a great game off the penultimate ball of the game chasing down Langold's healthy 129 for 4 total. The other game of the night was even closer with Barmy Army scoring 70 off seven overs and 92 off 10 overs only to fall away to a disappointing 109 total, Natalie Rowbottom top scoring with a fine 30 not out. Edwinstowe lost early wickets in reply before a fight back by Adam Walters (21), Nigel Jackson (34 not out) and Gareth Price who was caught off the last ball of the game for 36, to leave the scores level and give Edwinstowe their second tie of the season, and record Barmy Army’s first point of the season. Although Wednesday leaders Shireoaks were bowled out for by there standards a modest 118, they had few problems overcoming Walesby who replied with only 48 all out. The battle for second place was won by Shirebrook, but only just as A Cann with 23 not out finished off the good work started by Craig Rowland (22) and Das (20) to give them a one wicket victory over Cuckney Terriers. Tricky Trees will still have play-off hopes after a six wicket win over bottom side Blyth. A good start by Mat Rowbottom (26) and Abi Hawkins (23), was followed by a batting collapse which left a below strength Done & Dusted side thankful for 15 year old debutant Mat Henson, who scored a fine 40 not out. He took the total to 110 for 6. Teversal were always on top of the scoring rate but a late glut of wickets saw them bowled out in 11.3 overs for 83.
