Tea Bags extend unbeaten run despite Lions scare Killamarsh started their defence of the Sunday title in good style beating new side Nomads by 50 runs with A Whiteley top scoring with 43 not out. The first 50 of the new season came in the second game of the night as Clumber Park's Dave Beard’s 55 helped his s ide beat debutants Rose Raptors by 40 runs in a high scoring game, with Raptors Greg Searston also making 50. The closest match was Mansfield and Pleasley's four wicket win over Thoresby Park, the winning runs coming off the penultimate ball of the game. Monday champions Tea Bags extended their unbeaten league run to 20 games, but not before a scare against another new side Wiseton Lions, who were 57 for 3 at the halfway stage chasing down Tea Bags modest 114 all out total, before Ollie Wilson devastated the Lions batting to finish with 4 for 6 and bowl them out for 68. The best game of the night was The Mafias four run win against Whitwell, mainly thanks to a fine 70 not out from Liam Bentley. There will be new winners of the Wednesday league this season with champions Shireoaks moving to Mondays. A good start by last season's bottom team Teversal, who won a close encounter with Fiskerton by two wickets, and a young Bawtry side were unlucky to lose to Tricky Trees, with their captain Paul Warren needing six to tie off the last ball. He could only manage four in a great finish to the night. Cheers Steve.
