Close games in scramble for play-off spots No big scores this week but some close games as the scramble for the play-offs goes into the last few weeks. Clowne are now the only unbeaten team in the Sunday league as they restricted off form Lillamarsh to 82 for 3 to win by 18 runs. Mansfield and Pleasley went down to a Dave Hunt inspired Cuckney Cowboys. Hunt remained 63 not out as his side won in a thrilling last ball finish. Bawtry gave themselves a chance of getting in a play-off position as Lewis Fleming top scored with 29 not out to overhaul Thoresby Park's 82 target, off the penultimate ball of the game, again by the narrowest margin of one wicket. Shirebrook's young team march on in the Wednesday league but Fiskerton gave them a scare as Beecroft (30 not out) and Rob Bailey (28 not out) got them to within six runs of Brook's 113 total. Second placed Bawtry looked to be coasting to victory against the M & P Dragons who they had held to 60 for 6 off their 14 overs, only captain Matt Rowbottom making any impression with 24.The Bawtry openers seemed to be making light work of the meagre total before a collapse, led by 14 year old spinner Matt Spooner with 2 for 10 off 3 overs, almost saved his side as Bawtry scrapped home by one wicket. Cheers Steve.
