Mansfield & Pleasley brushed aside as Clowne consolidate Clowne brushed aside the challenge of Mansfield & Pleasley to consolidate their grip on the Sunday league and could well be the side to watch in this season's play-offs. Blidworth won a tight game with Thoresby Park, Dave Wilcox, unbeaten on 33, steering them home by one wicket. Killamarsh returned to winning ways after reducing Bawtry to 12 for 5 at one stage, and only a stubborn 45 from Rob Dutton set a modest 61 all out target. Bawtry made them work hard for the points and it was the 13th over before Steve Ludlam hit the winning runs to finish a fine all round performance with 33 not out, to add to his 2 for 7 in the Bawtry innings. Only bottom side Rose Raptors are out of the play off hunt in this division. Calypso Kids take the honour of ending Tea Bags' 24 game winning run, as James Hubbell top scored with 42 out of their impressive 121 for 6 total. Against tight bowling Bags found runs at a premium before a late flourish got the champions to within 13 runs before running out of overs on 108 for 4. Only 51 more runs scored than second placed Cuckney Terriers keep them top, as Terriers achieved an unlikely win over the Wiseton Lions who, chasing only 71 to win, folded to 57 all out in reply. Another unbeaten run ended this week as Bawtry's young guns gave Shirebrook their first reverse, Ryan Hobson leading the way with 29 out of his teams 91 all out total. Shirebrook never got going in reply and folded to 57 all out. It all now depends on the final week to sort out the champions from, Shirebrook, Tricky Trees and Bawtry, with the final play-off position going to either Mansfield & Pleasley Dragons or Walesby. Cheers Steve.
