First win for Glapwell eases relegation worries Rain once again disrupted the day for the third time this season with 13 out of 28 matches rained off. In the Premier Division GLAPWELL eased their relegation worries and managed to obtain their first win of the season and end a weakened MANSFIELD HOSIERY MILLS unbeaten record by recording a 114 run victory over the League leaders. SHEFFIELD WORKS, with the help of no play at UNDERWOOD, WELBECK and NEWSTEAD ABBEY & VILLAGE and a winning draw over ECKINGTON jumped into second place. In Division One MANSFIELD & PLEASLEY’S win over BLACKWELL lifts them to the top for the first time this season thanks to the three teams in the chasing pack all dropping points. SHERWOOD found some form registering their second win of the season by convincingly beating second place HUCKNALL. In Division Two despite having a free day CLOWNE TOWN manage to hold onto the top spot but good results from NOMADS and STAVELEY WELFARE sees them both close the gap on the leaders. Division Three saw no play at all due to weather. The top of the table clash in Division Four between leaders EDWINSTOWE and third place KIRKBY PORTLAND did not develop due to the rain, this allowed HARTHILL, who beat CUTTHORPE, and KINGSWAY PARK, who had a win over CUCKNEY, to close the gap on both the leaders. Division five now sees CLIPSTONE WELFARE at the top with six wins from nine matches after beating DENBY convincingly at home by 139 runs and after SHEFFIELD WORKS win over PILSLEY now sets up an intriguing match at Seventh Avenue next Sunday when the top two CLIPSTONE and SHEFFIELD meet. Wins for CLOWNE TOWN at SHIREOAKS and SOUTH WINGFIELD over BUTTERLEY leaves these two clubs stalking the leaders in third and fourth place.
