Hosiery Mills set the pace in Sunday League Last year's double winners Mansfield Hosiery Mills are setting the pace again in the Premier Division following their third win again Welbeck. Newly promoted Sheffield Works have made a promising start and are in second place following their win against Blidworth Miners Welfare. In division one, Mansfield & Pleasley have opened up a 10 points lead at the top over two newly promoted sides Hucknall and Ashover who played each other this weekend, with last year's section champions Hucknall getting the win from the match. Division two sees another team, promoted from last season, Clowne Town, at the top following three wins and a draw from 4 matches. A new club to the Mansfield League, Shipley Hall are making good progress in division three with a 19 points lead after 6 matches With an even greater lead and the first club to reach 100 points, last year's division five champions, Edwinstowe, seem to be running away with division four with a perfect maximum points from their first five matches. At the other end Cutthorpe a club in the Premier Division last season are finding the going tough in this division having not yet recorded a win. Division five sees another new club in the Mansfield League, Denby, at the top with Clipstone Welfare trying to hold off Morton, also new to the League, who are in third place. The withdrawing of Rainworth has now left only 13 teams in this division. The newly formatted Pentagon sponsored Knock Out Cup will get underway this week with Cutthorpe v Glapwell, Cuckney v Kirkby Portland, Mansfield & Pleasley v Sherwood and Newstead Abbey & Village taking on Blidworth in the first round.
