Beauchamp sees Calver home by ten wickets Calver claimed their first maximum of the season in style with a victory over Stanton. Stanton set them 164 to win, the Rosling brothers Nick and Dave collecting 45 and 43 respectively, and Eric Bite took 5-45. Hilton’s 65* playing the supporting role for a fine 93* from Beauchamp saw Calver ease home by 10 wickets. There was also a first win for bottom club Stocksbridge. The 187 that Hathersage posted which included 77 from Woolway and 49 from Furniss was reached for the loss of 5 wickets. Allen the star of the show for Stocksbridge with 92 helped by 43 from Siddall. SWD climb to the top of the league after a convincing victory at home to Collegiate. Ali with 80, Woods with 60 and 61 from the in form Everitt saw them to a massive 275-6. Sampson was again in the wickets as he took 4-25 as Collegiate were removed for 127. De La Salle Posted a competitive 171-6 against Parkhead, Hartley’s 45 and White’s 46 contributing for the home side. In reply Parkhead edged to victory by 2 wickets, with top scorer Pass making 58. Holmesfield completed a routine victory at home to Ashford. 6-35 from Westwood put Ashford on the back foot as they were dismissed for 104 and 49 from Turner Holmesfield over the line by 8 wickets. Bakewell made it 2 consecutive victories as they defeated SWD II in Division 2. Haynes falling one short of a century for Bakewell as they posted 196-7. The points were then sealed as SWD were bowled out for 114. De La Salle II came out on top in a tight game away at Parkhead. The visitors set 197 for victory with Wainwright top scoring with 40. 70 from Gilson and 53 from Bamford were not enough as Parkhead were bowled out with just 17 needed to win. 4-26 from Wainwright and 4-55 from Lally seeing off Parkhead. League leaders Sheepbridge, with the help of 62 from Rodgers and 49 from Atkin, finished on 204-6 and despite 4-18 from Hulett they couldn’t bowl out Grindleford. 43 from Skelton and 47 from Brown helped Grindleford to 138-8 in response. Baslow’s struggle continues as they lost away at Millhouses. They must have felt confident after restricting the home side to 146-9 with Hadfield taking 7-81 and Attril collecting 52 for Millhouses. 4-11 from Mumtaz however helped Millhouses to maximum points as Baslow were removed for just 93. A decent 226-8 was set by Centralians for Walkley to chase, Rhodes top scoring with 70 and Hudson taking 5-77. Walkley’s last pair hit the winning runs with 62 from Siddall and 47 from R Wing vital in the run chase. Ridgeway’s impressive season continues as they beat Chesterfield Barbarians by 8 wickets. Barbs set 143-9 with Wall earning 44, however an unbeaten 57 from Cartwright saw Ridgeway to the points. In Division 3 Hallam III eased to victory against Sheepbridge II bowling them out for 45 as Sheepbridge looked to chase the 179 for victory. 52* from Owens helped Transport to a 6 wicket win against Hundall. The 151-9 that Hundall posted was reached fairly comfortably. Promotion chasing Hathersage were restricted to 140-7 by Duckmanton Lodge who in turn were made to grind out 95-9 from their 46 overs. 152 was enough to win the game for Collegiate V. 41 from Layer helped to post a respectable total which was restricted by Green’s 5-55. Seal and Leiper were the executioners as Centralians were bowled out for 123. Seal taking 4-50 and Leiper 4-19. A massive win for Dronfield Woodhouse as they amassed 256-4 against Whittington Wanderers II. Vessey with 46, Lander 63* and Turner 73* in the runs for Dronfield. 8-13 from Drew sealed a forgettable afternoon for Whittington as they were skittled for just 48. Millhouses saw off Whittington’s first team by 33 runs. Millhouses set 181 for victory, S Khan with 45 and A Khan with 49 top scoring for Millhouses with Whiteley’s 6-17 keeping the score respectable. Despite 60 from Fletcher Whittington could only manage 147-8, Heaven on form as he took 6-36 for Millhouses. It’s tight at the top of Division 4 between three sides. Weston Park sit top of the pile after this weekend. They beat Ashford by 100 runs. The 185 was set in which 15 year old Mounsy took 4-22, was far too many for Ashford as they slumped to defeat. Bottom club Dronfield Sports Contact II were victorious as they accumulated 198-6 including 54 from T Croft against Duckmanton Lodge II. Duckmanton could only manage 149-7 as 72 year old Barry Croft helped himself to 4-36. Stocksbridge III kept with the pace as they beat Chesterfield Barbarians II by 6 runs. Fowkes took 5-13 as Stocksbridge were bowled out for 104 but 4-29 from Rolfe and 4-7 from Barton saw to it that Barbs couldn’t reach their target. Another sound batting performance of 225-8 allowed Zingari to overcome Baslow II who managed 141-9 in reply.
