Excitement at Hathersage as Hundall fall one short Three games survived this week’s washout in Division 1 with by far the most exciting coming at Hathersage. Batting first the home side made 117-9 with Yardy taking 7-37. Hundall fell one run short as they were bowled out for an agonising 116 with 4-42 from Somerton helping Hathersage squeeze home. Two of the division’s heavyweights met at Holmesfield as league leaders SWD were bowled out for 170. Sampson’s 62 helped them to a respectable total but 8-73 from Rossington did the damage for Holmesfield. 50 from Rossington also with the bat and an unbeaten 54 from Rodgers saw Holmesfield to victory by 5 wickets with Sampson’s 4-60 in vain. Stanton bounced back after defeat last week to win at home against Ashford. 6-36 from McGovern helped restrict Ashford to 134 with Campbell top scoring with 51. Nick Rosling saw his side home with an unbeaten 89 as Stanton won by 4 wickets. In Division 2 Keywood’s 4-24 was vital as Parkhead II bowled out Chesterfield Barbarians for 136. 41 not out from Gilson in the run chase eased Parkhead nerves as they won by 5 wickets. In Division 3 Duckmanton Lodge set Whittington Wanderers II 193 to win with Padmore top scoring with 89 and Whiteley taking an economic 3-7. Whittington struggled in the run chase however, as they closed on 57-8. 4-43 from Wilson helped Ashford II to keep Stocksbridge III to 116-9 in Division 4. In response Ashford’s batsmen made light work of the run chase, reaching their target for the loss of just 2 wickets with Davies top scoring with 52. Sunday's 6 A Side Percy Crookes Trophy was also postponed due to Sheffield Transport's ground being waterlogged.
