Gayle makes a difference for De La Salle 6-51 from Gayle was the difference as De La Salle saw off Stanton. Gayle’s second innings wickets helped to bowl out Stanton for just 96 as they chased the 190-6 that De La Salle had set, with contributions of 65 from Latimer and 53 from Hartley. Nick Rosling’s 4-63 was the only high for Stanton as they lost by 94. Division 2 saw much more play but little joy for the batsmen. Gridleford struggled to 100 all out against Walkley with Frith claiming 5-29. Walkley were relatively untroubled as they succeeded for the loss of just 3. SWD also struggled with the bat only managing 83 which pace setters Sheepbridge managed to bypass with 7 wickets still in tact. An unbeaten 94 from Wall saw Chesterfield Barbarians to 195-6. This was a score that De La Salle never looked like troubling as they were dismissed for 60. It was a home win for Centralians as they accumulated 162-8 largely thanks to 72 from Stow. 4-43 from Walch made sure the score didn’t get out of control however. Parkhead’s response was limited to 139 thanks to 5-39 from Walker. Rain interrupted Hundall’s run chase as the game was nicely poised in the only surviving game in Division 3. Whittington Wanderers set 156-7 with Fletcher top scoring with 65. Hundall’s response however was halted at 79-2 and never re-started. And there were no more results in Division 3 or 4 because of this week’s poor weather.
