Calypso Kids start title defence in style Three teams remain unbeaten after week two on Sundays. Cuckney Cowboys are the first league leaders after a comprehensive 51 run defeat of Thoresby Park, Steve Walker top scoring with 36 not out. Bawtry's Nick Hutton ripped through the Killamarsh batting taking 4 for 19 to bowl them out for 96 and give his side a seven run victory. Mansfield and Pleasley batsmen Matt Page and Richard Bostock, with 20 not out each, were the main reason for their final total of 94 for 3 against Woodsetts after a great spell of bowling by spinner Ian Woodall gave him the impressive figures of 4 for 12 in 2.3 overs. Monday champions Calypso Kids have started their defence in style, this week beating Whitwell by 42 runs with Tim Ward batting well for 39, and Langold were on form with a comfortable five wicket win over Edwinstowe. Teversal lead the way in the Wednesday league after a 65 run hammering of Fiskerton. Chris Hewitt, 36 not out, and Kevin Hewitt, 26 not out, gave them 109 for 5 .Shirebrook had few problems overcoming the modest 63 all out total of Rose Raptors, winning in nine overs for the loss of only two wickets. 45 not out by Blyth opener Daniel Brighton was not enough to save his team from a two wicket defeat at the hands of M & P Dragons, and it was the same story for the Walesby opening pair of Aaron Wood, 30 not out, and Dean Connelly, 29, as the rest of the batting failed and let in Tricky Trees for a five wicket win, knocking off the 92 run total with an over to spare. Cheers Steve.
