The performance of the day, and week, went to the young under strength Thoresby Park side that beat champions Clowne by four wickets. Juniors Grant Smedley and Dean Walker both made 20 not out to record an impressive four wicket win. Bawtry have made a great start this season. Their latest victims Nomads bowled well to keep them to a modest 86 for 6 total but Bawtry are a very useful bowling side and went on to win by 19 runs. A change of name brought Edwinstowe a change of luck winning for the first time, 32 runs the margin. Adam Walters top scored with 43 not out to give Kashmir Tandoori two points. Another top effort this week saw Cuckney Terriers beat Clumber Park by a maximum seven wickets, and the teams to beat in this division look to be Calypso Kids and Tea Bags who recorded easy wins over Wiseton Lions and Langold. Tricky Trees looked to be heading to defeat against Shirebrook needing 27 from the final two overs. They made it with a ball to spare, Ian Bagshaw (21) Oliver Wilson (22) and Ant Johnson (20) doing the damage in a thrilling finish. Teversal stay top of the Wednesday League after amassing a huge 131 total with Chris Hewitt again on form with a fine 52. Rose Raptors certainly gave it a go in reply and their final total of 114 would win most games giving them confidence for next week's battle of the winless teams against Blyth. Cheers Steve.
