Ludlam guides Killamarsh back to the top Top Killamarsh all-rounder Steve Ludlam guided his team back to top of the Sunday League with runs and wickets against Mansfield & Pleasley. He top scored with 32 not out and had earlier caused all the previous leaders batsmen problems, and I would rate him as the most effective bowler in the league. A hard hitting 40 not out by Cuckney Cowboys' Mark Langford led to a useful 108 for 5 total. Bawtry's openers, Richard Miller and Dan Motherdale, with 25 each got the reply off to a brisk start before a collapse left in form batsman Lewis Fleming needing to score 14 from the last over, batting on his own. Three off the first ball, and four off a no ball, was followed by a mighty six to leave the scores level and four balls still to face, before veteran bowler Paul Hunt dug deep to find a great delivery to bowl Fleming and record the first tie of the season. Another all-rounder on form this week was 16 year old Adam Dutton. On Sunday, he scored 31 and took 2 for 7 as Woodsetts became the latest side to beat Clowne - 25 runs the margin. A day later he faired even better with 41 and 3 for 2 as his regular team, Langold, ended Whitwell's winning run by a convincing 44 runs. Richard Bostock's Cuckney Terriers side are having a great season giving Kashmir Tandoori their first taste of defeat since they changed name. Bostock, 3 for 2 and 20 not out, gave his team a three wicket win, despite losing two wickets in the first over of their reply to Tandoori's 59 all out total, Aaron Rhodes the bowler. Clumber Park's Gas Beard smashed 65 not out against toothless Wiseton Lions to record the biggest win of the season - 145 for 6 played 45 all out. Wednesday leaders Tricky Trees held on to their 100% record by the skin of their teeth as Fiskerton fought hard to protect a modest total of 72 for 6. Dave Hodge top scored with 29 not out. A below par batting performance led to Trees scraping home by one wicket with only two balls to spare thanks mainly to a fine 32 not out by Steve Farmer. Blyth are finding some form this week beating Walesby who would have looked sick without captain Ryan Harkness scoring 47 out of their all out total of 57. Have you ever wondered what a battle between Raptors and Dragons would produce? Well on this occasion it resulted in a thrashing for the Raptors by an 84 run margin. Five Dragon batsmen scored the 20 needed to retire with only Stuart Bentley with 25 not out showing any resistance for the hapless Raptors. With this being a 14 week season the play-offs will consist of the top three from the Sunday and Monday leagues and the top two from Wednesdays Cheers Steve.
