Sunday is a day of shocks Sunday proved to be the day of the upsets as all four lower placed teams at the start of play got the better of their better placed opponents. First up was Cuckney Cowboys who seemed to be coasting against lowly Thoresby Park before a disastrous decision from captain Dave Hunt to bowl Simon O’Neil in the final over, as Park went from 54 for 4 to 84 for 4 including eight scored off the final ball. You would not have expected the strong Cowboys batting t o have any problems against the young Park bowlers, but apart from 30 from Paul Hunt, the rest crumbled finishing on 77 all out. The game of the day was a first v second clash. Bawtry, with captain Paul Warren in form with 40 not out, set Killamarsh 99 to win. With three balls left, wanting four to win, the game was on a knife edge b efore Warren had last man Dan Parks caught to give his side a three run victory. Woodsetts' 89 for 3 was 12 too many for Mansfield & Pleasley and Clowne finally managed a win thanks to 50 not out from Dale Steers, as they scored the 89 needed to beat Nomads. No surprises but plenty of close games on Monday with on form Adam Dutton (42 not out) leading Calypso Kids to a narrow five run win over Whitwell, and despite a b est score of the night 63 from Tandoori`s James Peacock, who received little support, as they fell 18 runs short against Langold. Adam Walker (41) and Bryn Smith (39) were the stars in their total of 105 for 4. A change at the top on Wednesday with Tricky Trees losing for the second week on the run, and by a convincing six wicket margin a gainst Walesby. No such problems for new leaders Shirebrook who racked up the h ighest score of the week with 138 for 0, which was always going to be out of Rose Raptors' reach. In fairness, Raptors batted pretty well themselves with 92 for 5. A great game between Teversal, whose 118 for 6 saw Dave Gell on top form with 52 not out, would win most games, but good scores all down the order with a top score of 35 not out from Dave Hedge, saw Fiskerton home with five balls to spare on 119 for 4. Cheers Steve.
