Pentagon Knock-out Cup final

The final match of the season, the Pentagon sponsored Knock out final, which was hosted by Mansfield Hosiery Mills on Sunday was between Cuckney and Glapwell Cricket Clubs. Wickets were pitched a 1.00pm.

Cuckney batted first making 137 for 7 from their 30 overs with W Ullyott 42, R Stroh 28. Pick of the bowling for Glapwell was D Grainey 3-33 and N Bircumshaw 2-21.

In reply Glapwell got off to a bad start losing both openers cheaply finishing on 75 all out in their 30 overs. D Topham top scored with 24 and A Clark hit 13. For Cuckney, O Wilson took 4-26, R Bostock 3-13 and R Stroh 2-5. Cuckney won by 62 runs.

Mansfield Hosiery Mills were thanked by Mr. Steve Ward, the League Vice Chairman and Mr. Dennis Cooke, League President, presented the trophies. The man of the match was O Wilson and the umpires were Mr. Trevor Cottom and Mr. Darrel Frith.
