For Mansfield & Pleasley to take the Sunday title they had to score as many runs as possible, take as many wickets as possible, and hope that Pilsley could not match them in the last game of the night against Woodsetts. The last time M&P p layed Bawtry the game ended in an exciting tie, but this time with caution thrown to the wind, M&P broke the Cuckney indoor scoring record with a massive 186 for 1. Bawtry's reply got off to the worst possible start losing two wickets with the first two balls but, to Bawtry's credit, they managed to bat out the 14 overs to deny M&P the last wicket to finish on 70 for 6.
Pilsley's 141 for 2 total against Woodsetts left them needing six wickets for the title, but they were left rueing several run out chances missed as Woodsetts ended on 103 for 5. Cuckney Cowboys' defeat by Thoresby Park left them reaching for the calculators to find that again one wicket was all that kept them ahead of unlucky Blidworth, who had easily beaten disappointing Clowne by three wickets.
All the Monday placings remained unchanged. Whitwell's late charge for the play-offs ended in a low scoring defeat by Bridon. Bottom club Sherbert Dabs finished on a high, winning in a close encounter with Glapwell, and congratulations to Edwinstowe worthy Monday champions. They always play the game in the right spirit and even when their player (Kirky) became the first player in the two-year history of the CuckneyIndoor league to be given out lbw, he walked off with a smile on his face.
