Springboks triumphant in Cuckney Indoor play offs Cuckney indoor cricket spring league play off results Clumber Park 105/6 beat Edwinstowe 87/6 Clumber Park put out Monday champions Edwinstowe with a good bowling display protecting their modest 105 total .Mansfield & Pleasley avenged the recent league defeat by Pilsley with a comfortable 38 run victory. The pick of the quarter finals was the high scoring Bridon Cowboys game, Bridon winning in the last over. Thoresby Park who have been in good form recently were without several players due to injury and other commitments and suffered with a 69 run hiding by Springboks. Semi Finals Clumber Park 85/4 beat Mansfield & Pleasley 84/7 Clumber Park made it a notable double after beating the Monday champs in the quarter finals. They also beat the Sunday league winners to go into the final on a high. Springboks were too strong for Bridon with a 40 run victory, and with the inclusion in their side of Cuckney's giant South African Richard Stroh went into the final as clear favourites. Final Springboks 72/7 beat Clumber Park 61/7 After six overs, Springboks strong batting order was in tatters, Clumber in total command with the score at 35 for 6. When Alan Butler was out in the last over he had scored 41 out of his side's modest 72 all out total. Clumber found runs hard to come by against Springboks six man pace attack and, despite a brave effort, they lost their last wicket with two balls left still 11 runs short. Well done Springboks - play-off champions spring 2005.
