MGT make every run count MGT may only be a Chesterfield evening league side and a look at the Sunday League table shows that they are easily the lowest run scorers in the division, but they certainly make every run count. For the second week running, they won by the narrowest of margins, this week beating, and replacing in second place, Woodsetts, who would have expected no problems in reaching the 85 run target only to lose their last wicket on 83, to lose by one run. An improved performance by Edwinstowe put paid to Thoresby Park's 100% record by an 11 run margin and Cuckney Cowboys slipped into third place by virtue of a 19 run win over Pilsley. New leaders in the Monday league are Glapwell who, despite a first defeat by Stevos Rockets, beat Edwinstowe in a rearranged fixture to be the only team on eight points, chased by five teams on six points, in what looks like being a real scrap for the three play-off places on offer. Langold and Barmy Army won again in the Wednesday league, but I expect Shirebrook and Tricky Trees to push the top two all the way after comfortable wins over Shireoaks and Cuckney Terriers respectively. With this being a 14-week season, and no team in any division unbeaten, there looks to be plenty of twists and turns in store before the final placings are decided. Spring League Results Week 5 Sunday League Edwinstowe (116/6) beat Thoresby Park (105/6) Monday League Tea Bags (146/4) beat Whitwell (93/7) Wednesday League Langold (82/7) beat Clowne (67/7) League Tables
